Its All About Me

Scotts Leather is the work of Scott Griffiths, a Moab craftsman who builds every piece by hand—one stitch, one cut, and one idea at a time. What started as a love for working with natural materials has grown into a full creative studio where traditional leathercraft meets personal storytelling. Each hat and accessory is shaped, tooled, and finished with the same care you’d expect from museum‑grade artisan work.

Growing up in the red rock country of Utah, Scott learned early how much character there is in raw materials. Leather, wool, stone, and metal all carry their own history, and his craft is about bringing that history forward. Every project is built to last, built to be worn, and built to mean something.

Scotts Leather is more than a brand—it’s a commitment to slow craft in a fast world. No mass production, no shortcuts, no templates. Just honest materials, skilled hands, and the joy of creating something real. Whether it’s a fully tooled hat, a custom commission, or a piece shared live in the studio, the goal is always the same: make something worth keeping.

If you’re looking for work with soul, story, and craftsmanship you can feel the moment you pick it up, you’re in the right place.

experience

Scott Griffiths has spent years working across the full spectrum of traditional crafts—leatherwork, fiber arts, metal, and stone—developing a skillset that’s as broad as it is deep. His experience comes from thousands of hours at the bench, behind the tools, and in front of a live audience, shaping raw materials into finished pieces that feel alive in the hand.

His leatherwork began with small projects and quickly grew into fully tooled, hand‑stitched hats that have become his signature. Along the way, he mastered the fundamentals: pattern making, carving, dyeing, shaping, burnishing, and finishing. Every technique was learned the long way—through repetition, experimentation, and a commitment to doing things right, not fast.

Beyond leather, Scott’s background in spinning, dyeing, and fiber preparation gives him a rare understanding of natural materials. His work in lapidary and metal adds another layer of craftsmanship, allowing him to integrate stone, hardware, and custom details into his designs. This combination of disciplines gives Scotts Leather a style that’s both rugged and refined.

Scott has also built a strong presence as a livestream creator, sharing his process in real time with viewers around the world. Teaching, demonstrating, and answering questions live has sharpened his technique and deepened his connection to the craft community. It’s one thing to make great work—it’s another to make it while explaining every step.

Today, Scott brings all of that experience into every piece that leaves his studio. Whether it’s a custom hat, a commission, or a one‑of‑a‑kind project, the work reflects years of hands‑on practice, problem‑solving, and a genuine love for the craft.
